1. Who we are
RosCar Madeira is an aggregator of car rental offers from local rental companies in Madeira. We are not a rental party. After you book, the rental agreement is concluded between you and the local supplier, and their own terms and conditions apply.
2. Booking process
- You select a car and conditions on our website and pay a 20% prepayment online.
- After payment you receive a confirmation with details, supplier contacts, and pickup instructions.
- The remaining balance is paid at pickup in cash or by card according to the supplier’s terms.
3. No deposit and no credit card
We list offers with no deposit and no credit card. Availability of these options depends on the specific supplier and car class and is shown on the offer card. If a deposit or card is required for a given offer, it will be clearly stated before you make the prepayment.
4. Age and document requirements
- Minimum driver age is typically 21 with at least 1 year of driving experience. Limits may vary by supplier and car class.
- A valid driving licence is required. An International Driving Permit may be needed depending on your country.
- A young or inexperienced driver surcharge may apply.
5. Insurance and liability
- Base packages usually include TPL or CDW with an excess. Extended coverage may be available as an add-on.
- The excess amount, exclusions, and insurance terms are set by the supplier and specified in the voucher or contract.
- You are responsible for fines, parking fees, road tolls, lost keys, and damage not covered by insurance.
6. Fuel policy, mileage, and borders
- Full to full is most common. Other policies are possible and shown in the offer’s conditions.
- Mileage is usually unlimited. If limits apply, they will be disclosed before payment.
- Use of the vehicle is allowed within Madeira Island. Taking the car off the island is prohibited unless expressly authorised in writing by the supplier.
7. Pickup and return
- Exact pickup and return location and time are agreed with the supplier. The most popular locations are Funchal and Cristiano Ronaldo Airport (FNC).
- Late return may incur additional charges according to the supplier’s rates.
- If your flight is delayed, we recommend providing your flight number in advance.
8. Cancellations, changes, no-show
- Free cancellation is available up to 48 hours before the pickup time. In this case the prepayment is refunded in full.
- Cancellations within 48 hours or no-shows may result in the loss of the 20% prepayment or a charge determined by the supplier.
- Booking changes depend on availability and the supplier’s tariffs and may require a price recalculation.
9. Car class and availability
Bookings are confirmed by category. The specific model depends on the supplier’s availability at pickup and may be replaced with a similar or higher category at no extra cost if the chosen model is unavailable.
10. Extras
Child seats, additional driver, GPS, and other options are available on request and may be paid at pickup according to the supplier’s price list.
11. Breakdowns and accidents
In case of a technical issue or an accident, contact the supplier immediately using the details in your voucher and follow their instructions. If needed, contact the police and obtain an official report.
12. Payments and exchange rates
The 20% online prepayment is charged in the currency shown on the website. The remaining balance is paid to the supplier on site in the currency stated in the voucher. Bank fees and currency fluctuations are non-refundable.
13. Refusal to provide a car
The supplier may refuse to release the vehicle if documentation is not compliant, there are signs of intoxication, or age and other requirements are not met. In such cases the prepayment may be non-refundable.
14. Liability of RosCar Madeira
We provide intermediary information services and are not responsible for the supplier’s performance of the rental agreement, vehicle condition, delays, or cancellations caused by force majeure or third parties. Our liability, if any, is limited to the amount of the prepayment paid to us.
15. Personal data processing
We process your data to arrange the booking and share it with the supplier. Details are described in our Privacy Policy. By using the website you consent to this processing.
16. Intellectual property
Website content, including texts, logos, and graphics, is protected by copyright. Any unauthorised use is prohibited.
17. Force majeure
Parties are released from liability for non-performance due to events beyond reasonable control, such as natural disasters, strikes, transport disruptions, or government actions.
18. Enquiries and complaints
If you have questions or claims regarding a booking, contact us and the supplier listed in your voucher. We will assist with communication and mediation within our intermediary role.
19. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes are subject to the competent courts of Funchal unless mandatory rules provide otherwise.
20. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The new version takes effect upon publication on the website. Please check for updates before booking.
